Lou Castle

  • Early in his career, Castle founded Westwood Studios, one of the most innovative and influential video game companies in history. Lou is widely credited as the “godfather of RTS games” due to Westwood's Command and Conquer franchise. Lou worked as the Founder, COO/CFO of Westwood Studios until it was purchased by Electronic Arts, where he then spent 11 years as Vice President of Creative Development for the Los Angeles studio.

  • After his years at EA, Castle joined Instant Action, a browser-based games company, as its CEO. Later, he worked as Vice President of Studios for Zynga, Chief Strategy Officer for Shuffle Master, the Head of Amazon Game’s Relentless Studios in Seattle and Chief Product Officer for start up Green Park Sports. In September of 2022 Louis joined the former Call of Duty team at startup Deviation Games and currently serves as Deviation's President.

  • Louis is an experienced speaker, having given hundreds of presentations and dozens of Keynote addresses to international audiences at major trade shows such as CES, E3, G2E, and ICE, to major corporations like Virgin, Viacom, Spelling, Electronic Arts, and IAC, to students of major universities like USC, UCLA, UNLV, and Carnage Mellon, to game designers at major trade shows worldwide such as GDC, GDC Europe, and Gamescom.
