Every horse in our Owner's Club has parents and a pedigree that determines the genetic traits and preferences each horse inherits through breeding.
As a result, each horse has a region and associated historic bloodline (based on emulated historically great real-world horses) whose genetic traits they share.
Our game initially has three regions (United States, United Kingdom, and Australia) and three associated historic bloodlines.
Bloodlines in Owner’s Club plays a pivotal role in determining what types of races a horse will be successful in.
Traits are governed by one of the three core attributes in the Owners Club.
A horse's genetic traits and preferences are revealed to its owners as the horse progresses through their training curve.
Horses unlock traits via improving a traits governing attribute (Speed, Stamina, or Acceleration) to level 60, 70, and 80. Once a trait is unlocked its effect will be applied to the horse.
When traits are unlocked, players can see their horse’s complete list of traits and preferences. Also, the ”power” of this trait is unlocked, and horse performance will improve.
Horses are able to unlock up to 4 traits per governing attribute (12 total traits).
A horse’s genetics (its Phenome and Genome) determine the horse’s physical traits, as well as its performance traits and preferences.
Physical Traits include coat color, markings, gender, and size.
A horse’s performance traits and preferences are all related to one of our three core attributes and fall under several categories outlined on the pages ahead.
The power of each trait is defined at the horse's birth. There is no way to improve the genetic traits of a horse.
It will be necessary for the players to take note of these traits and preferences as they decide what race to enter and what tactics to employ. It is also critical to consider genetics when Breeding.
