# Skills

### Skill Types

There are 11 Skills that horses can learn inside the Owner’s Club. Horses earn skill points by participating in races. Players can choose which skills they would like to invest points in. Each skill impacts the horse differently, so players must carefully choose where they would like to spend skill points.

### Skill Points

Players earn skill points for their horses by participating in races. There are many race types in the Owners club, and the number of skill points awarded will vary by race type. The number of skill points available to a horse depends on the Grade of the horse. The higher the grade, the more skill points a player has to improve a horse.

* **Grade 1**: Starts at 125 Skill Points (Can get more from a special trait)
* **Grade 2**: Starts at 100 Skill Points (Can get more from a special trait)
* **Grade 3**: 75 Skill Points

As a player progresses in learning skills, the number of Skill points required to attain the next level of a particular skill increases.
