Skill Development

  • Players accumulate skill points by participating in races. These races can be peer-to-peer races or public races being broadcast.​

  • There are 11 skills horses in the Owners Club can develop. They are categorized into Starting, Racing, and Finishing. Please see the next page for skill descriptions.​

  • Players then choose which skill to which they want to apply these points. It takes > 5 upgrades to completely learn a skill. As a player develops a skill, each upgrade level requires more skill points to upgrade the skill.​

  • When a player upgrades a skill to the next level, the Skill's "Power" will increase.​

STARTING​

  1. First Out - Decreases a horse's time out of the gate​

  2. To the Front - Gives a short-term acceleration and speed bonus that helps horses get to the front ​

  3. To the Rail - Gives a short-term acceleration and speed bonus and gives them “right of way” to get to the rail

RACING

  1. Breezing - Allows for improved stamina utilization in the middle third of the race ​

  2. Working - Allows the horse to achieve higher speed and acceleration while not decreasing stamina as significantly when making a move in the race​

  3. Drafting - Allows the horse to settle in behind other horses easier and utilize no stamina for portions of the race where they are behind other horses ​

  4. Lead Leg Change - Allows horses to turn closer to the rail and achieve greater acceleration out of the turn

FINISHING

  1. Dueling - When a horse is in a 2+ horse battle – horses with this skill gain a speed and stamina utilization advantage over other horses​

  2. Overtaking - When passing a horse in the final straight, these horses will get a speed and acceleration bump when passing horses ​

  3. Final Kick - Horses who have this skill get a speed boost after the final turn​

  4. Closing - Horses with this skill will be able to close from as much as 25 lengths with a significant speed increase
